One of the experiences that will transport you to the past of the Incas is the visit to Titikaka Lake, the people that live there still continue with their millenary practices, where time seems to have stopped.
On the Uros-Uros floating islands, the dwellings are made of reeds, a kind of reed that grows in the water of the lake and is also used to construct the floating islands. Here you will find a small school, that has solar panels for energy.
We will also find beautiful crafts, all hand made which will catch your eye due to their beauty, and quality, and also because of the dedication these people show and feel towards tourists upon our arrival...we will also be invited to ride from one island to another on small reed boats.
The population in these areas still preserve their typical way of dressing from generation to generation, and still make all their own clothes. The best weavers are found on Taquile Island.
To get to these most beautiful and enigmatic places we must navigate on Lake Titikaka, the highest salt water lake in the world (4000 meters above sea level) for more than 4 hours, until we arrive at Taquile Island and then we must walk up 400 steps to the main entrance of the main island. You will see without doubt one of the most beautiful and dramatic views of the entire lake when you arrive at the very top of the stairs.
